Themes and explanation of Surah Mulk
The teachings of Islam were quickly adopted, and, on the other hand, the people living in heedlessness were most effectively awakened from their slumber. A characteristic of the earliest surahs of the Makkan period is that they present the entire teachings of Islam and the object of the Holy Prophet’s mission, not in detail, but briefly, so that they are assimilated by the people eas
Man has been made to understand in the first five verses that the world in which he resides is a most well-organized and protected kingdom in which he can not find any fault, weakness or defect, how hard he may seek to investigate. Allah Almighty Himself has put this Kingdom into existence from nothing and all the powers of regulating.
The terrible consequences of the disbelief that will occur in the hereafter have been stated, and the people have said that Allah has warned them of these consequences in this very world by sending His Prophets.
“You have ultimately to appear before your God in any case. It is not for the Prophet to tell you the exact time and date of the event. His only duty is to warn you beforehand of its inevitable occurrence. Today you do not listen to him and demand that he should cause the event to occur and appear prematurely before you; but when it does occur, and you see it with your own eyes, you will then be astounded. Then, it will be said to you “This is the very thing you were calling to be hastened.”
Answers were given to what Makkah’s disbelievers said against the Holy Prophet (on whom be peace) and his Companions. He cursed the Holy Prophet and begged for the destruction of himself and of the believers. Of this, it was said: “When those who call you to the right way are killed, or Allah has shown mercy, how can their fate change your destiny?
In conclusion, the people were asked this question and left to think about it “If the water that has come out of the earth somewhere in the desert or hill country of Arabia, and upon which all your life’s existence depends, should sink and vanish underground, who, besides Allah, will restore this life that gives water to you?”
Benefits of Surah Mulk
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah be pleased with him) saying,’ There is a Surah in the Qur’an containing thirty Ayat who interceded for a man until his sins were forgiven; this Surah is’ Blessed is He in Whose hand is the dominion.’ (Surat Al-67)
So as we can see from the Hadith above, Surah Al-Mulk will intercede on the Day of Judgment for his reciter (the person who always recites it) before Allah (SWT) pardons his reciter.
